If you haven’t heard already, the latest rumor has it that Alabama Attorney General Troy King was recently caught in bed with one of his male aides. There’s a breakdown of the rumors here. It’s too soon to verify anything, and there have been no official statements released. Apparently, an official denial has been issued from the AG’s office, but I haven’t seen it. However, if the rumor is true, it will merely confirm the new gay stereotype which has become one of the more ridiculous aspects of American society. King is of course an outspoken homophobe (in 1992 he called homosexuality the “downfall of society”), and lobbied hard to keep sex toys from being sold in Alabama, so it’s possible he fits the criteria. Hard to say, though. He’s got a lot of enemies in the state, some of whom I wouldn’t put past making up something like this. The jury is, as they say, out.

UPDATE: As of July 15th the rumor has not been verified, so I think we can officially declare it false. What a bunch of crap.
