According to a controversial and fascinating new study, animals have a moral code that encourages cooperation and reduces unnecessary fighting. Isn’t that the point of human morality as well?
A recent photo essay appeared which highlights the findings on this study. Three cheetahs were spotted playing with a baby antelope, presumably because they weren’t hungry.
This photo of boxer crabs taken in Indonesia by Marchione Giacomo is amazing. The crabs defend themselves by carrying tiny stinging sea anemones in their claws. These two are obviously ready for a fight.
This is definitely the weirdest fish I’ve ever seen. Macropinna microstoma, or barreleyes, has two fluorescent green eyes imbedded in its transparent, dome-like head.
I though this was a joke, but apparently it’s not. If your guide dog just isn’t cutting the mustard, you should get a guide horse. I wonder if they make saddles for these critters?
